Your Authenticity is Your Superpower

Would you believe me if I said - Warren Buffett, the veteran business magnate who could afford to have exquisite, over-the-top meals prepared at the snap of his finger, prefers to have McDonalds for breakfast everyday; vesting his comfort in Coca-Cola and burgers?
Or if I said - The founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad re-used tea bags and shopped at flea markets, often soliciting bargains while he could have easily afforded to skip the frugal behaviour and live comfortably on his amassed wealth?
Well they definitely did not resort to such demeanour to make it to Business Insider. They in fact did not do anything at all. It was just how they led/lead their life. On their terms. In a way that made them feel natural. They did not deem it necessary to submit themselves to the manufactured narrative of living lavishly just because they have to.
It made more sense to them to stick to what made them feel comfortable and at ease because they realized early on that real luxury is leading life the way they want to. Real luxury is having the choice to be authentic and be oneself. Real luxury is the power to train and tune one's mind to not bother itself with putting on a facade to become likeable. Real luxury is the boon to be carefree and one's true self - unadulterated with the opinions, judgements and assumptions of the world.
Atleast once, we all may have inadvertently fell prey to the long-infused thought processes that we need to fit in to be accepted. Or that we need to tailor our lifestyle based on people's perception of our lifestyle. Or that we need to care about others' judgments on our life events at all.
Well here's a 'not-so-hard' truth - it doesn't matter. What people think does not matter. What your conscious thinks and how it acts is what matters. Being yourself is your biggest superpower so don't let your mind tell you otherwise.
So dear readers - moral of the story is very simple. Don't underestimate the power of your authenticity. Don't undermine the very traits that make you unique. Don't concern yourself with being liked, rather focus on being admired - that's what makes a person truly stand out.
Be real. Be unapologetically yourself. Be your happiest self.
Give yourself the fuel to roar. Sorry, that would be raw-r!

Beautifully written Sushmita ,very simple phrase "to be yourself" but highly complex in practice, in todays world specially humans who are wired for social survival . As always your writing stuns me.🤩
