Plush sofas and Movie nights accompanied with popcorn , Family time of a lifetime, and PRECAUTIONS against our arch enemy- COVID-19, perhaps even a greater foe than the churlish Rita Skeeter to all the Potterheads, 2020 has definitely driven us up the wall. Firstly this pandemonistic pandemic and secondly the USA elections! This is enough to drive any sane man insane.
The world has been battling this pandemic since a long time now and we have all witnessed this gripping tale with our eyes wide open. We have learnt a lot from recent happenings but the question arises- Syllabus covered, What next?? This time has been a challenging affair for all those who have been fighting all way along to fight the virus and have pulled out all the stops in their line of duty to ensure Earth’s speedy recovery. Don’t we owe Mother Earth and it’s dwellers something even after its seamless service to us in these testing times?
We absolutely do. We don’t owe them any reward of monetary form nor any designation of OUR SAVIOUR. We owe them respect, gratitude and a promise, perhaps an unbreakable and irreversible one. We owe them a promise.
These 8 months of our life has given us time in abundance to delve into our own self and introspect. Introspect on our lifestyle, our very way of viewing things. We have got a lot oftime to refine ourselves and inculcate any new and valuable learning in our lives. We have got time to re-evaluate our stances and refurbish the interior of our mind. I truly believe that change is an inner feeling, a feeling of transformation of oneself into one’s true-self and the origin of change is not unknown to us. It is our very own psyche.
The topic says ‘NEW WORLD ORDER’. I might contradict my own topic in the coming few stances that I will place before you to drill in the essence into all our thick skull, mostly averse to change. Okay, let’s get back folks. The topic is brewed in perplexity because the world does not change, it’s habitants must change in order for it to witness a revolution. Let me iterate with a few examples- Once COVID departs, nothing is going to change. Mumbai locals will again function ‘normally‘- with people teeming and tearing in. Bengaluru will be in full swing with eat-outs never feeling ditched. Schools will again be dominated by Akbar the Great and Pythagoras. Chairs will again be thrown in the houses of parliament. Biden and Trump will continue to be rivals (on the professional front of course), no matter who wins. Nothing is going to change.
But yes, we can hope for one thing to change – The change in people’s mindset, obviously for the better. We can strive to become a better version of ourselves and have an optimistic outlook about life. We can rethink about our true identity and filter out unwanted and unwarranted things from it. We can try to find flaws in our own self before pointing fingers at others. We can individually induce a plethora of values in ourselves and give our personality the edge.
Well the choice is ours. We can continue to deride people and give up on our surroundings or we can choose to bring a chain of positive reactions around us. We can continue to moan about some thing or the other or we can choose to rectify it and get the full feel of life.
Let’s get back to the promise I was talking about. Our promise to humankind and the world at large must be to primarily make good our mistakes and learn from them. Secondly, we should try to rework on our character and bring out our remodelled charisma. Thirdly, we should consider being ourselves. That is the best support system we can expect from ourselves, for ourselves. We have the choice to change ourselves for the better and bring in a revolution, owing to the fact that the world doesn’t change, we must change it.
I will reiterate. The world, rather it’s new version will in ordinary course definitely give us a chance to revive ourselves and the vibe encompassing our very home. It won’t change on its on. Well, it’s not a chameleon. Let’s think of it as an alarm. A wake-up call for entire humankind to let go of the old drill and embrace change. Embrace a more refined and happy us. Change is constant and we must not be reluctant in working towards our own betterment. We still stand the chance to do some good to our very home. Let’s do this. Let’s gear up because……. Post pandemic, I get to be a new me and we get to be a NEW US.
Happy Journey on the Road to Change!
