Don’t Hesitate to GROW

Does a sapling ask us whether it can transform into a huge tree housing multiple branches and bearing succulent fruits? Does it feel-“Oh humans might feel bad if I grow, I will wait for them to issue the ‘Growth Permit’? No it doesn’t. Not because it cannot converse but because it knows that it has to keep scaling upwards each day and set the sky as its limit. Well it needs water definitely which we humans have to provide. Otherwise, it is totally unfettered to keep progressing.
The best part is that we humans do not even need to depend on someone else to grow. Unlike the tree, all resources to supplement our growth are with us. We have the seed in the form of our goal, the process of plantation driven by our efforts, sunlight in the form of self-motivation, and most essentially water in the form of choice. Choice of watering the seeds of growth through perseverance and commitment or of giving away the right to grow by holding ourselves back from grooming our own garden of growth.
Well we all know what are the elements required for a plant’s growth. Thank you very much. Thank you to our science teachers who have etched the process of photosynthesis in our mind in an ineradicable manner, since grade 4. No wait. Grade 3. Okay, setting aside this million-dollar rib-tickler, I will now state my prime purpose of revising the ‘Our Environment’ chapter from our school days.
I have used it as an example to illustrate the independence we have on the way to growth. We are in complete liberty to grow and progress. This is a process which requires absolutely no authentication from any force, heavenly or not. It is not a money bill which requires the approval of the Parliament. It is not the biology lab record which requires the most stars by the teacher to be termed as the biologist of the class.
But yes, the process unequivocally must be approved by the willingness of our mind and heart. It must be sanctioned by both the Upper House and the Lower House of our mind. If both the houses show the green signal, we are good to move ahead.
If you scroll up, you will notice that I have coined a term called-‘Growth Permit’. Well yes, you are free to make wild guesses. It is similar to an ‘All India Permit’ granted to vehicles to move freely across the country but there is a twist in the tale. Growth Permit is the permission you grant to yourself to grow and progress. Unlike other permits, it does not involve any paperwork or fees. It is granted by our own conscience by charging a nominal fee in the form of willingness. The more willing you are to grow, the faster and cheaper the process gets. Nice and hassle-free process, isn’t it?
While achieving our goals, its all right to go on a flight-safe mode. Primarily because, we are not answerable to anyone when we are soaring speedily towards our dreams. If our conscience doesn’t object, no one can object. People may feel that we are severing ties with them, may call us selfish, may even stop being our friend. Don’t worry. Let go. Just let it go because when we accomplish our goals and become men of substance, they will automatically appreciate us for our dedication and might also take back with them a lot of learning and inspiration from us.
Another important message that I want to convey is that do not bother about what others are doing or rather what they aren’t doing. If you feel like doing something, go for it irrespective of how many people tread on the same path as yours. If there isn’t a path to reach your goal, carve one. Rather that going with the flow, create your own flow. Do this and behold wonders. Flow towards your goal in any way, conventional or not. Just fly free.
Lastly, control only what is under our control. We must gauge our performance and tweak it appropriately to achieve maximum satisfaction while achieving our goals. We must not alter our plan for other’s sake. We must not switch routes on the basis of where someone else is going. It might result in a traffic violation in which the cop of our brain will penalize us in terms too dear. So, to avoid a contentment violation, don’t break the signal. Wait for the yellow light, prepare yourselves and go your way when the light turns green.
I will not be surprised at your speculation on whether Sushmita is planning to become a traffic cop. I will grant you the benefit of doubt because I am purposely using traffic jargon to emphasize on the main takeaway.
I am confident that all my readers will upon perusal, be able to absorb the focal point that-
Listen to yourself. You will never misguide yourself.
Consider opinions but set the ultimatum for your goals yourself.
Do not worry about what people are doing. You are responsible solely for your own development and not anyone else’s.
You want to achieve something, work for it yourself. You will appreciate yourself someday for your deeds.
Grow unrestricted. Progress undeterred.
So, I am sure these points will penetrate your mind and will influence you positively. I am sure that it will become a driving force for you to inch closer to your dreams.
The Jet Propulsion Laboratory of your mind is prepared to propel you towards the universe of your dreams. Mission Director, the final call is yours.
T minus 101, We are good to go for launch.
See you in some time. Thank you.
