When we list the seasons on planet Earth, we exclude one very significant season – The EXAM season! Unlike other seasons, it is perennial – it’s showers and rays bless us all year, every year. This season doesn’t just cast spells of rain or voluminous baggage of leaves. It casts lightening and rumbling thunder, springs of joy and sudden adrenaline rush, and showers of advices. Hold on, are you experiencing these jitters too? Keep yourselves hooked. I’ve got you covered.
Exams mark their attendance in forms as diverse as Nymphadora Tonks’ disguises. It is also too polite to invite itself into all phases of our life. Take childhood. Our primary aim, (rather let me be more dramatic) our ‘Raison d’etre’ (translates into – reason for existence) was to have in possession the best stationery set in the class. Have the most enticing school bag, be the teacher’s pet! (though it seems as the most ludicrous idea now). Though not the conventional mode of examination, we then faced a different form of exam.
Consider teenage life. Fan-following and a big fat instagram family. Get your hands on this and what’s left to be explained. This is not an exam per se, but it is a field of intense competition! And we anyway face our pen-paper based exams in this stage.
Okay. Mounting on more serious matters now.
As we grow up, we face various challenges. Though not always in the form of sheets and ink, but exams can unfold in any way before us and we must enter its arena. Be it in the form of spearheading the farewell event for your college, or meeting the monthly targets at workplace or dispersing inside stories of politics to fellow senior citizens in the park discussion forum, we encounter exams and competition everywhere.
Now let’s get to the ‘Point of Talking’. Exams induce a peculiar fear in all of us. We ironically fear something which will help us emerge out as a better personality. It’s simple isn’t it? We need to face competition in any field we wish to excel. So its high time we stop shying away from our fate and start prepping ourselves for the D-day.
Well our love for exams matching , or at least inching a bit towards Hermione’s love for library is a difficult possibility but we must not get irked by the thought of exams. We must learn to face them. The solution may be as simple as marking True/False in the Science class test or as taxing as setting the new world record in your area of proficiency. Still, it is just an exam which definitely has an answer key. Something that definitely has a way out.
So gear up people. Repeat after me (actually the following words)….
Will exams scare me, be it in any form? – NO
Will I learn to confront my exam fear and emerge unscathed? – YES
Will I make most judicious use of any opportunity I come across? – YES
Will I panic? – NO…. and lastly,
Will I be able to breakthrough with 100% focus and dedication?- YES YES YES!
Exams are made with an aim to enhance our learning experience, not hinder it. We must accept this first. Everyday exams unfold before us and everyday we must scale new heights by answering it with ease and calm.
We have come across the phrase that ‘Life is a Race’. Now we actually realise that it is a phenomenon hard to ignore. If we wish to collar the medal, we must put in our efforts, irrefutable efforts. This is possible through what I call an effort to gain an-
E- Energizing and
X- Xenial experience of
A- Attempt, Assessment and Accreditation through
M- Making mistakes and rectifying them to hone our
S- Skill sets
Well that is EXAMS in short!
My readers can call it motivation or a sermon, but I will re-emphasize my main motive of writing these blogposts. Preparedness for examinations must also be accompanied with consistency and self-determination. Only then will the paper seem easy!
So as the Exam season is closing in, let us brace ourselves to face the unknown with our maximum preparedness and confidence and lets see how much does the answer key favor us!
Embrace this season with open arms, for it charms us in a way different of them all!
